George Stuart Memorial

Each year by rotation one of the member Clubs hosts this event, usually late July or early August,  in commemoration of George Stuart, one of the founders of the Holt Shield and Secretary/Treasurer for the first twenty five years of the competition.

The afternoon comprises 18 holes of golf followed by dinner, usually fairly informal & always good fun.

The host Club provides the course free-of-charge, while the Holt Shield pays for dinner.

Those entitled to participate are:

  • Current Team Captains
  • Holt Shield Committee
  • Past Chairmen
  • Officials of the host Club
  • Guests invited by the Holt Shield Committee.

Only current team captains are entitled to win the Goerge Stuart Memorial Trophy.
