Mr R R (Bobby) Conroy of Carnalea Golf Club took over from George Stuart as Secretary in 1988 and successfully organised the competition over 26 years, until his untimely death in 2014.
Inaugurated in 2013, the Bobby Conroy Award is presented annually to the individual deemed by the two Team Captains to have made the most outstanding contribution in the final.
If the two Team Captains cannot agree on an individual, then the Chairman will have the casting vote.
